NATO is conducting a major exercise to counter a hypothetical threat from Moscow
and prevent the Kremlin from breaching the alliance’s borders.
In Estonia, 1,800 troops, including 700 from France, are stationed near the Russian border. The exercise, named “Pikne”, will run until December 15, featuring soldiers, airmen,
and sailors, to test NATO’s readiness and give Estonia time to activate its reservists and receive reinforcements, as reported by 20 Minutes.
General Indrek Sirel, leader of the Estonian Army, describes it as “a public version of our actual defense plan”.
